Lawrence Wayne AdkinsonCurrently living in Salt Lake City, Utah and working as a press operator for a rubber engineering company, Lawrence spends his free time expressing his feelings and past experiences through his art. Lawrence's appreciation for art was nurtured as a young boy growing up in a small town in Kansas. His mother, an artist herself, taught him to appreciate the beauty that surrounds us. She took him to museums, art galleries, and concerts (Blue grass being her favorite). She was always teaching him to study the beauty in nature and the uniqueness in people. His father, a barber and part time TV repairman, provided him with opportunities to tear apart, fix, invent and create. This is how Lawrence's art has evolved. "Through my artwork I bring new life to discarded objects, depicting man's past, present and future relationship with the earth and nature." Each art piece has a key fixed to it. Lawrence has taken the key and combined it into his art as a symbol of usefulness and life. "My hope is for those who view my art to adopt it's meaning into their lives. I consider it a compliment when someone says "I can't describe this in words, but I feel it!"" |
